WordPress workshop at Higher Ed. Center

ABINGDON, Va.–The University of Virginia’s College at Wise Office of Economic Development and Engagement is offering Advanced WordPress, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, Abingdon, Va. WordPress is the publishing platform of choice for almost 70 million websites and blogs including some of the most high-profile sites in the world. It has a Content Management System market share of 58%. WordPress is quick to install and simple to get started on, with little configuration and setup. In this course, participants will learn how to customize themes, find the right plugin for their site, and more.

Topics include themes, functionality, widgets, event management, advanced content plugins, marketing tools, and others. Participants should have their own WordPress website with Administrator rights to fully engage in the class. The cost for the workshop is $94.44, which includes materials, lunch, and refreshments. Pre-registration is required, and enrollment is limited to My Pro Blog.
